What are the specific improvements of the new form?

The miniExtensions form now also features a much more intuitive form builder experience.

The form builder lets you configure a form while previewing its layout and fields. Forms open in the builder by default, and changes are saved to the Draft version until you publish them. If you temporarily need the previous editor, click the gear icon in the form builder toolbar and select Classic under Editor Mode. From the Classic editor, you can select builder in the toolbar at the top to return.

Select a field in the preview to open its settings. You can also use the gear shortcut shown on a field while editing. Field borders, gear shortcuts, and other builder controls are visible only on the form builder preview.

You can add fields right in the preview. You can add an unused Airtable field or select Add element to add an Airtable field, text block, section, image, signature, or page. Open the form outline to reorder elements or use bulk actions.

Select the gear icon in the builder toolbar to open form-wide settings. This is where you configure Submission Actions, security, styling, and other settings that do not belong to one specific field.

Select Share in the builder toolbar. The Share menu contains the form URL, login settings, edit and magic-link options when available, embed code, access restrictions, and custom-domain options.

Use the preview controls above the form to switch between creating a new record and editing an existing record. In the editing preview, search for a record by its primary-field value or record ID.

The builder shows editor-only indicators that are not present on the public form. For example, fields with conditional visibility display an eye-slash icon, and an enabled CAPTCHA is represented by a disabled preview placeholder.

Select a linked-record field and expand Create & Expand Records. When you add a child form from the builder, it is created for editing or expanding linked records. Select Edit Form to open it or click the child form straight from the form outline. The child form uses the same builder experience as its parent. Linked-record fields inside the child form do not automatically create additional grandchild forms.

The builder header shows the extension’s publication state. Changes remain in Draft until you select Publish.
