You can use a synced table with the Portal. However, you cannot edit the synced fields. Only the added fields can be edited by the portal user.
Airtable supports making synced fields editable on certain plans. This needs to be enabled specifically, so if you're trying to edit synced fields please check with Airtable to see if this feature is available on your plan.
