What does the view look like for the end-user?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

You can preview the extensions by going to the form or portal URL. You can also click Open Extension (portal or shared view) / Open Form (form). The same view will also open when clicking on the extension from your base's list of extensions.

To preview creating a new record, you can navigate to the Share menu, and then copy the URL from the Form for Creating Records box. This is unavailable when using a Login on your form. In that case simply click on Open Form towards the top right.

To preview editing a record, go to the Share menu, then, under Form for Editing Records, you can click Try it out to open a random record or copy and paste the formula, then add it to a new formula field to your table to edit a particular record. Alternatively, you can simply click Open Form towards the top right.

To visualize the form exactly as your end-users will see it, you can turn on the Preview toggle in the top right corner. This toggle will hide all admin-only elements from the screen, except for our chat widget, so you can still ask for help, if needed.

Alternatively, you can use an incognito/private window or a different browser where you haven't logged in to your miniExtensions account.

While you're logged in, you can edit your extension while accessing the form or portal. Just click Edit Extension in the top left corner. This button is not available on the end user's view.

Why do I see gears and borders on my fields?

A gear icon appears next to each field on your form. Clicking it provides a shortcut to that field’s settings. These elements are not visible to end users.
