My custom domain is still pending after a long time

Updated this week

Please first allow for up to 48 hours for the changes to take effect. DNS can be slow to propagate fully. Also please double check the settings page to see if you need to add a TXT record in addition to the CNAME record. If the custom domain still does not work after 48 hours, do the following:

Double-check all DNS records we've asked you to create: the CNAME record pointing to domains.miniextensions.com, as well as the TXT record (if it's shown in the custom domain section on the settings page). You can check if your DNS records are working correctly using a DNS checker website/tool like DNSchecker.org and entering the host, as well as the record type.

IMPORTANT note: Many registrars (Squarespace, for example) only require the first part of the domain (e.g. forms instead of forms.yourdomain.com) to be entered in the Name/Hostname/Host field, but some will require the full domain (forms.yourdomain.com) in this field so please double check exactly what you need to enter in the corresponding field for your registrar!

DNS records are correct but custom domain is still pending

The automated setup process times out after a while when the TXT record isn't set up properly. This can sometimes happen before you add the TXT record to your DNS configuration. If you've already double checked both DNS records and your custom domain is still pending, please do the following:

  1. Delete the TXT DNS record

  2. Delete the custom domain from your workspace settings

  3. Add the custom domain again in your workspace settings

  4. Come back after a few minutes (refresh the page) and it should show another TXT record to set up

  5. Add the TXT record to your DNS configuration as shown

  6. Wait a few hours (up to 48, but usually much quicker) and check back

  7. If your custom domain is still pending after following all these steps, please speak to a member of our support team.
