If you would like the edits not to be published until they are reviewed by a manager, we don't have a built-in solution for this use case. But instead of relying on an external approval system, you can build one inside Airtable itself.
A workaround
This problem can be solved by using:
A text field.
A checkbox field.
A formula.
You would need to use the formula field for production instead of the original text field. The formula is simply to return the text only if it's approved (the checkbox is checked).
⚠️ Important
You would also need to disable record editing after it's approved. You wouldn't want future changes to be auto-approved without being reviewed first.
