How Field Mapping Works Automatically with Airtable in miniExtensions

Fields are pulled directly from Airtable. No setup needed.

When you create a form or portal in miniExtensions, your Airtable fields are already mapped. Unlike other tools, miniExtensions pulls your actual Airtable fields directly. There’s no need to manually connect each field.

Just choose the fields you want from your Airtable base, and the form is instantly built with those fields already connected. It works just like Airtable’s native form builder.

What gets mapped automatically?

  • Field types (e.g. text, attachments, dropdowns)

  • Field options (like single/multi select values)

  • Supported Airtable field settings, including formats and field-specific options.

To inspect the imported configuration, open the field in miniExtensions, expand Advanced, and view Airtable Field Settings. This panel is read-only. Use the Airtable shortcut in the panel to change the source field's settings.

Examples include:

  • Date format

  • Currency format

  • Rich text for long text fields

  • Number format

  • etc.

Why this matters

  • Zero setup time

  • Fewer chances for mistakes

  • Fast testing and iteration

  • Feels native to Airtable users

Can I still customize the form?

  • You can reorder or hide fields

  • Set default values

  • Use conditional logic

  • Rename field labels, etc.
