The 'Convert Address to Coordinates' automation turns street addresses stored in your base into latitude and longitude values. This allows you to use your Airtable records with maps, location-based tools, or geocoding workflows.
NOTE: You'll need to add the longitude and latitude fields in your Airtable first.
Setup
Prepare a field containing a complete address for each record and two editable single-line text fields for the coordinates.
Create this automation and select the Airtable base and table you want to use.
Add a Google Maps API key in Workspace settings, then select it under Google Maps API Key.
Set Address Field to your source address field. Set Longitude Field and Latitude Field to the corresponding output fields.
Review Processing Behavior if the output field already contains values. Only choose to overwrite data you intend to replace.
In Run, limit processing to a view containing one or two test records. Run the automation and check the coordinates for a known address before processing more records.
If an address cannot be found, the automation writes −1 to both coordinate fields. Check those records and improve the address before trying again.
