How to convert coordinates to addresses in Airtable

The 'Convert Coordinates to Address' automation takes latitude and longitude values from your base and converts them into full street addresses. This makes it easy to display readable location data directly in Airtable.

 

Setup

  1. Prepare separate longitude and latitude fields in Airtable, plus an editable text field for the resulting address.

  2. Create this automation and select the Airtable base and table you want to use.

  3. Add a Google Maps API key in Workspace settings, then select it under Google Maps API Key.

  4. Select the two coordinate fields under Longitude Field and Latitude Field, taking care not to swap them. Select the output under Address Field.

  5. Review Processing Behavior if the output field already contains values. Only choose to overwrite data you intend to replace.

  6. In Run, limit processing to a view containing one or two test records. Run the automation and check the resulting address for a location you know before processing more records.

If the coordinates are invalid or no address is found, the output can say “Bad coordinates”. Check the source values before retrying.
