How to export CSV Files from Airtable

You can use our CSV Exporter automation to generate a CSV file for your records using a URL.

Setup

  1. Create this automation and select the Airtable base and table you want to use.

  2. In CSV Generator, select Fields in CSV. Choose the fields you want included; selecting a view does not automatically choose the visible columns for you.

  3. Enable filtering and select an Airtable view if you only want some records included.

  4. Choose Export Mode. Use Limited export with real-time data for a link that retrieves current data, or Scheduled, complete export for a generated file that is refreshed when you run it.

  5. Open CSV URL and copy the export link. For Scheduled, complete export, click Generate Now to create or refresh the file.

  6. Download a test CSV and check the selected columns, matching records and values before sharing the link.

See record limits and how quickly Airtable changes appear when choosing a mode. For emailed download links, follow Scheduled Email Delivery.

Rich-text fields are exported as plain text, and long rich-text values may be shortened. See CSV rich-text limitations and the plain-text workaround before relying on the export for complete rich-text content.
