Our Export Base Fieldsautomation was designed for this particular use case! It will generate a list of all fields and tables in your base, including the following information:
Field Name
Field Type
Field Description
Field Options
Table Name
Table Description
This information will be saved in your base as a new table called miniExtensions Fields List. Each field will be represented as an individual record.
Setup and run
Open the miniExtensions workspace and select the Airtable base you want to document.
Create the Export Base Fields automation in that base.
Open the Run section and click Run automation. This exports the base’s field definitions, rather than the contents of its records.
When the export completes, open the displayed Table Link and review the new miniExtensions Fields List table. Each row represents a field from your base.
