How to crop images around faces or the center of the frame

I want to crop headshots of my employees automatically

You can use our Crop Images automation to crop and resize images in your Airtable records. Here's how:

  1. Select the Source Images Field — the attachment field containing the images you want to crop.

  2. Select the Cropped Images Field — the attachment field where cropped images will be saved.

  3. Choose a Crop Mode:

    1. Smart Crop (Face-aware): Intelligently detects faces and important subjects to determine the crop area.

    2. Center Crop: Crops from the center of the image to match the target aspect ratio.

  4. Set the Output Width and Output Height in pixels (default: 400x400).

  5. If using Smart Crop, adjust the Padding percentage to include more or less context around detected faces (default: 10%).

  6. Optional: Enable the Error Message Field to log errors for records that encounter processing issues.

Images must be under 20 MB and 40 megapixels. All cropped images are output as JPEG.
