What is the runtime limit for Automations?
What is the runtime limit for Automations?
Updated over a week ago

There is a 10-minute time limit for every run. This is normally enough to process thousands of records, depending on the type of Automation and the data contained in each record. This limit does not necessarily mean that you cannot run the automation again. You can run the Automation again if there are more records to be processed. All plans let you process an unlimited amount of records.

Our paid plans have different total daily Automation runtime limits. You can check the applicable limit for each plan here. The Free plan is limited to 15 minutes per day.

The daily total runtime limit resets every day at 12AM UTC.

This limit is only applicable for Automations that update records in Airtable. So the following Automations are not affected by the runtime limit:

  • Bulk download attachment

  • CSV exporter

API limitation

Please note there might be limitations by the third-party integrations.

Legacy Plan Limits

Per Extension Plans (Personal/Business)

Our Personal and Business plans have a total daily runtime limit based on the number of extensions in your workspace. For each billable extension in your workspace you get 5 hours of total automation runtime.

Per Collaborator Plans (Pro)

Our Pro plan has a total daily runtime limit based on the number of collaborators in your workspace. For each collaborator in your workspace you get 5 hours of total automation runtime.

Flat Fee Legacy Plans (Legacy/Starter/Plus/Legacy Pro)

All flat fee legacy plans are limited to 20 hours, regardless of the number of automations.
